Rich, citrus, peach, tropical and great finesse
Unlike most winemakers, Alexandre wasn’t born into wine, other than his grandfather had bought a few plots for investment. After working in the Loire Valley, California and Ventoux, in 2007, Alexandre managed to persuade his grandfather to tend his vines for him. He now owns 11 hectares. He harvests, about 2 weeks, later than most in the region. He trains his vines low and ploughs with a horse. Harvesting is done by hand and yields are low. In 2015, Alexandre was denied from the Pouilly Fume appellation because they believed that his methods of farming were not the norm for the area, hence why most of his wines are labelled as Vin de France. He won a case against this in 2017 with the local authorities and can now label them accordingly.
