Amber, peachy, tannic and aromatic
Mick and Jeanie Craven met in 2007 while doing a harvest in California. They moved to Jeanie’s home of Stellenbosch and began making wine in 2011. They use old large oak barrels and add some some sulphur to their wine. The Pinot Gris comes from a single vineyard site. In the cellar, the coppery/pinky coloured grape is fermented on the skins for 9 days. The fruit is hand-picked, de-stemmed and then treated like a red wine. This is a proper 'skontact' wine - It's tannic, deep amber colour and has some nice weight to it.
