Elegant, clean wood chippings, caramel, black fruits, smoky meat and gritty tannins
Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy's finest. They practice sustainable viticulture in an area which is seen to be more traditional. Until the 1980's, the vineyards owned by the family were leased out to other wineries. It was only when Jean-Nicolas Méo, under the guidance of Henri Jayer, started to really take the wine making from the winery seriously. They have 2.5 hectares of Grand Crus and 8 hectares of Premier Crus based in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Roomanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically.
