Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah Bold, weight with prunes and oak

Chateau Musar was established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar at aged 20. Major Ronald Barton, of Château Langoa-Barton in Bordeaux, became friends with Gaston in 1941. This connection with Bordeaux is prominant in Musar's wines. Serge Hochar, Gaston's son who took over the winery, left the estate to his sons before passing away in 2014. The family connection is still very strong with each family member playing a vital role. The Jeune Red isa blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah coming from vines planted since 2000 at around 1,000m above sea level in the Bekaa Valley. The juice is fermented in cement-lined vats and bottled a year after harvest and released a year later. While this isn't the big jammy Chateau Musar you know, it still holds its own in terms of weight, tannin and fruitiness.
