2019 Les Equilibristes Hirsute Blanc
Francois and Florent from Les Equilibristes are based in the South-West region of France, in Dordogne. Francois is a wine merchant and restaurateur in Paris and Florent is an oenologist - An ideal combination. Les Equilibristes translates as tightrope walkers and together they make low intervention, low sulfur and organic wines, mostly from neglected varietals. The Hirsute Blanc is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Semilion and Sauvignon Blanc, which sees 2 days skin contact. The vineyard has been using organic fertilisers for the past 20 years and are located on the hillsides of the Dordogne Valley. Some of the wine is aged in new oak for 6 months with ageing on the lees. This is a rich, fresh and aromatic white with a pear and lemon zest character.
