Nebbiolo and Barbera
Deep, rich, bold and juicy
Fontana Fredda was established in 1858. Based in the Barolo region in Piedmont, Fontana Fredda produces Nebbiolo based wines. Vineyards are planted high on steep sloped ridges. The Maretti is 70% Barbera and 30% Nebbiolo. It is fermented using wild yeasts and aged in French and Slovenian oak. The wines are then blended and aged further for 4 months in large oak casks.
