Juicy, nectarine, herbacious and a touch of smoke
Germany produces some of the world’s best Riesling, along with Alsace and Australia. With Von Winning being one of the country’s oldest and most respected wineries, you’re guaranteed a great drop from the Deidesheimer. Founded in 1849 and falling back into the hands of the family in 2007, Von Winning is a practicing organic winery. They own vineyards across three villages; Ruppertsberg, Deidesheim and Forst. They don’t use herbicides or synthetic fertilisers. All wines are unfined and unfiltered. Winemaker, Stephen Attman, describes his winemaking as “not doing the wrong thing at the wrong time”. The Deidesheimer is a step up from the Win Win with a saline and juicy palate.
