Dark cherry, almond and balsamic
Italy is a whole wine world in itself. Puglia is located in the “heel” of Italy and is the home of Azienda Agricola Pasquale Petrera who makes Fatalone Primitivo. Primitivo, also known as Zinfandel in California, makes a deep, full-bodied red. Fatalone, meaning seducer in the local dialect, is full-bodied yet fresh wine with dark cherry, almond and balsamic characteristics. The wine spends 6 months in steel, 6 months in Slovenian oak and finally 6 months in bottle before release. Having being founded in its current state in 1987, the estate has been in the family for generations. Gioia del Colle is the hilly wine making area in which the estate sits.
