Gamay and Poulsard

A sparkling rosé made from Gamay and Poulsard in the traditional way with only 8% alcohol? Yep, I’m in! If you haven’t heard of Bugey, don’t worry. It’s at the foothills of the Jura mountains, the Rhône river loops down to the south, Savoie is only 30km east and Lyon is only 50km west. If you hit Grenoble, you've gone too far. Domaine Renardat-Fache is in it’s eight generation but the vineyards, on which they farm organically, have been there since the Middle Ages. Using the Méthode Ancestrale, the Cerdon is fermented without the addition of any sugar or yeast but instead using the sugars of the grapes for a natural fermentation.
